Femsport Competition

Check out what these champs say about their Femsport experience

aleeceI would HIGHLY recommend Wendy Peterson’s FemSport program. Having never done FemSport before, but wanting to, I signed on with Wendy to whip me into shape for the competition … and get me into shape she did. The program was great, starting out at a base level and moving our team of ladies up incrementally to the day of competition where we each did incredibly well. For myself, the thought at week one of doing 10 box jumps was a crazy – but through her training and encouragement, I did 50 box jumps competition day in 42 seconds, which blew my mind. I have never felt stronger or more proud of myself, plus I made some great friends along the way with our entire FemSport team of 20 ladies too. I’ll be back to compete next year in the Open Division and will be training with ‘Wendify’ no doubt about it!

I was intrigued by Femsport but felt it was too out of my league to even think about.  But when Wendy got the word out that she was putting together a training group, I gave it a second, more serious thought.  After learning that the event attracted ladies from all walks of life and that the year prior, the average age was 40-ish, it seemed more doable for me – if they could do it, why not me?  I immediately thought of two people who I would want to be on my 3-person team and asked them if they wanted to train with me for the event.  They, too, became intrigued and together the three of us completed our registration forms, committing ourselves to 12 weeks of Wendy’s gruelling workouts and strict eating.  It was no easy task, but together we built great bonds with the 17 other ladies also training.  I could not have imagined training for such an intimidating event without the support of Wendy and this group.  It was definitely an experience and journey that was well-worth the blood, sweat and tears (literally – some of us bled).  Because I’m not “a runner,” marathon-type goals were of no interest to me.  Femsport was an event that allowed me to set a lofty goal, and was my first ever competitive fitness event.  Wendy made the journey challenging yet fun – her energy and motivation are unlike any other.  Just a warning, though – you may find yourself counting box jumps in your sleep instead of sheep, but once you have mastered flipping a 250 lb tire, there is no turning back – it is one of THE most empowering feelings a woman could ever experience!  The end result:  Our novice team of 3 placed 4th overall and I placed 29th out of 43 competitors…  not bad for a 37 year-old mom!  Thanks Coach P!

loriI have been taking Wendy's fitness programs for just over a year now. I initially signed up to try something different to lose the weight I had gained after having a baby. Not only did I lose the weight I had gained and then some, but I also have never been so fit and strong in my life. I am a novice in the fitness world, and Wendy encouraged me to train with her to compete in Femsport 2011. This is something I never dreamed I could ever be involved in but I did it! I am now participating in Wendy's 8 week kettlebell challenge and loving every minute. I think what keeps me coming back for more is that Wendy's programs are ever changing and fun so I'm never bored.  Her upbeat attitude and positive encouragement is extremely motivating, and the fact that I saw results in just weeks of working with her has really made all the difference. She offers so many classes that she really makes it easy to make exercise a priority, even as a busy working mother! It really has been life changing working with Wendy, and I would highly recommend her to anyone I know!

leianneI heard about Wendy's Femsport program and decided I wanted to challenge myself to get stronger. It was extremely difficult and I was suffering from a rotator cuff problem and an old back injury, but Wendy told me what to do to help those problems, and I was so happy to be able to work through the problems and keep going. I was able to complete all of the events for Femsport, and turned 60 years old 5 days after the event. It doesn't matter how old you are, you can do it. You just need determination and the rewards of great strength and health are the rewards.
